Nat Difford is a British/American award-winning producer, script consultant, development executive, writer, creative coach, and program designer based in NY. She is most known for her work as the Head of Filmmaker Development at the non-profit film fund and production company, Cinereach (Marcel the Shell, Sorry To Bother You, Beasts of the Southern Wild) where she designed and facilitated a dynamic underground Fellowship program and got to work with such extraordinary talent as (see below). Nat joined Cinereach with extensive industry experience - from development and financing (Chicken & Egg Pictures, This is That) to production (see imdb) to festivals (London, Tribeca, etc).

Nat’s first film as producer, Adam Leon’s Gimme The Loot (IFC Films), won the Grand Jury award at SXSW, had its international premiere at Cannes, before winning the Independent Spirit Award for Best Debut Feature. Other producer credits include Adam Leon’s follow-up, Tramps (Netflix) and Maryam Kesharvaz’s Sundance award-winning Persian Version (Sony Pictures Classics), as well as the short films Kiss of the Rabbit God by Andrew Thomas Huang and The Slows by Nicole Perlman. 

As a consultant, Nat has run workshops for the European Film Market (EFM), led masterclasses for Film London, NYU, among others, as well as consulted on scripts with filmmakers and production companies across the U.S., U.K, and Europe. She received training through IDEO’s Collaborative Leadership course, Torino Script Editor Lab, and keeps up-to-date with EDI training sessions.

As a writer, she received a Jacob Burns Residency in 2021 and participated in the 2022 Cine Qua Non Lab with her script, What’s The Time, Mr. Wolf? Her latest development efforts will be seen on Freeform in the upcoming series, Sasha Reid and the Midnight Order, by Nancy Schwartzman.

Nat is on the advisory board for SXSW, is a proud awardee of Jezebel’s ‘Amazing and Kickass Women’ and is always looking for new ways to help nourish and hone ambitious visions including creative prompt cards and trivia hunts. Come play!
